Schlarman Foundation

Financial Support for Schlarman Academy

The purpose of the Schlarman Foundation is to provide continuing financial support to Schlarman Academy to fulfill its mission to “Teach as Christ Taught.” Our outstanding college-prep curriculum includes both Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Dual-enrollment classes, which enable our students to earn both high school and tuition-free college credit, are available through Danville Area Community College.

Schlarman Academy is a Roman Catholic P-3 to 12th Grade school whose mission is to provide a student focused educational environment, based upon the Gospel values, that promotes the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of our students by teaching the arts and Sciences in a climate of academic inquiry; sharing the Catholic faith and our many cultural traditions; and, witnessing the Good News as a people of God in a caring and supportive Christian atmosphere.

Each year, approximately 96 percent of Schlarman High School graduates are accepted into and attend both two-year and four-year educational institutions.

To Teach as Christ Taught ...

The directive by which Catholic schools live their mission lights the way for all of us to perpetuate Schlarman Academy so that generations of young people can benefit by a strong Christian, academic education, enjoyed by those who went before them.

The Schlarman Foundation was established in 1974 to serve as an additional income source for the school at a time when educational costs were rising sharply. A community fund drive was held and the goal of $500,000 was exceeded.

The Schlarman Foundation has since received gifts, memorials, and bequests. The endowment funds have been invested and the income and growth can be used for scholarships, academic programs, and other financial needs of Schlarman Academy.

The Schlarman Foundation is managed by its Board of Directors. The Board oversees the investment of its funds and continues to look for new gifts so that more needed income can be generated for the school.
