Must be 21 years of age to purchase and/or sell tickets. Only one (1) individual may be identified as the purchaser of the raffle ticket. Please note groups must designate a primary name, address and phone on ticket responsible for tax liability. You may add up to four additional names per ticket (for a total of 5) at the time of purchase.No additional names may be added after initial ticket purchase. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Schlarman Academy Advancement Office, by mail, at designated ticket outlets or from raffle salespersons. The Schlarman AcademyAdvancement Office will mail a verification postcard to the primary registered ticket buyer once your check or credit card has been processed. Please allow at least 15 business days for your confirmation to arrive. This postcard is your receipt of purchase. If said notice is returned to Schlarman Academy without a forwarding address, no further attempt will be made to deliver the notice. Schlarman Academy and its volunteers assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or undelivered entries.
Schlarman Academy parents are required to sell 3 raffle tickets if they have one student at Schlarman Academy, families with two or more students the requirement is 5 raffle tickets. The Schlarman Academy parent name (or student last name if different from parent) must be added on the appropriate line at the time of ticket purchase. No additional names may be added after initial ticket purchase.
Only the first 5,000 paid tickets received by the Schlarman Academy Advancement Office will be registered. Other monies will be returned to the purchaser.
In the event that a minimum of 3,500 tickets are not sold by March 22, 2019, the committee reserves the right to withdraw the prizes not awarded and pay 50% of the net proceeds up to $100,000 to one winner.
Payments that are denied or returned for insufficient funds or other reasons will be subject to actual costs incurred plus a $25 penalty. The ticket will be void until cash or a money order is received to cover fees and said ticket.
The primary person named on the ticket will be awarded the prize and be responsible for all taxes (Federal and State) incurred. No portion of the cost of the ticket is tax deductible. Schlarman is required by law to report winnings of $600 and over (on all drawing winnings including the 50/50 and special drawings) to the Internal Revenue Service and to withhold appropriate taxes on winnings of $5,000 and over. Winners must claim possession of the prize by May 15, 2019 or forfeit the prize.
Payday drawings will be held in the Schlarman Academy Advancement office on the following dates: February 15, 22 March 1, 8, 15, 22 and April 5. No drawings on March 29 during Spring Break. Special 22nd Anniversary drawings will be held in the Schlarman Academy Advancement Office on February 22nd and March 22nd. Winners will be notified and prizes mailed to primary name and address on ticket. To be eligible for Payday or Anniversary drawings tickets must be received by the Schlarman Academy Advancement Office by noon of the drawing day.
All employees and volunteers of Schlarman Academy are eligible to win drawings. However, Schlarman Academy and parish affiliated organizations are not eligible (examples: Home & School groups, Booster organizations, special fund drives, etc.)
Payday and Anniversary winners are eligible for subsequent Payday & Anniversary Drawings as well as the Main Drawing. Main Drawing winners will be drawn from the grand prize through 50th. Prizes for the main drawing will be announced in reverse order. A complete winner list will be posted on our website at www.schlarman.com. All winners, by entering, authorize Schlarman Academy to publish their name and likeness on the website and for it to be used in other promotional materials by Schlarman Academy.
If no designation for a portion of raffle proceeds is circled on ticket, all proceeds will benefit Schlarman Academy.
