Schlarman Academy Annual Appeal

The annual appeal for SA is the most important aspect of Development and Advancement for the school. Consistent, annual giving from alumni and friends of Schlarman is what helps us fulfill our mission of providing a student-focused educational environment based on the Gospel values. In addition to meeting the ongoing expenses of operating and maintaining the school, the monies from the annual appeal help defray the difference between tuition charged and the actual cost of educating a student at SA. The truth is that tuition only covers approximately 50% of the cost of educating a young man or woman. In order to make a Catholic education accessible to every student who desires it the Annual Appeal must be successful each and every year.

Top of the Hill Challenge

As part of the annual appeal Schlarman alumni are asked to give to the Top of the Hill Challenge to support their class year in the annual “friendly” competition between our alums. Motsett Society

In honor of Father C. B. Motsett and his vision for Schlarman, the Msgr. C. B. Motsett Society has been established as a way to support the school in the area of its greatest need, tuition assistance. The Society’s purpose is to provide annual unrestricted funds for students who could otherwise not afford a Catholic education. The money we raise will also be used to close the gap between tuition and the cost to educate each student at SA. Membership in the Motsett Society is offered to friends who are willing to make an unrestricted annual investment of $1,000.00, $2,500.00, $5,000.00 or more. Ways to Give

Check or Credit Card

Checks are always welcome and should be payable to Schlarman Academy. Please send donations to Schlarman Academy, Development Office, 2112 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61832. You may also make your gift by credit card. Call the Development Office at (217) 442-1184 to charge you donation over the phone.

Pledges

You may make a pledge to the Annual Appeal for Schlarman Academy by phone, mail or online. Pledges should be completed by the close of the fiscal year, June 30. The Development Office will send you reminders according to your designated payment schedule throughout the year.

Matching Gift

Your employer may match your donation. Please talk with your employer about how to make a matching gift to SA. The Development Office will certify any gift application and return it to your employer.

Memorial and Honor Gifts

Gifts may be offered in memory of a deceased loved one or in honor of a special event such as a marriage or anniversary.

Planned Giving

We hope that you will consider making a gift to Schlarman Academy as part of your estate planning. A Planned Gift to SA or the SA Foundation can take many forms and provides long term support for the school as well as tax benefits for the donor. SA welcomes planned gifts in the form of Bequests, Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts and Life Insurance. The Development Office can assist donors who wish to include any of these in their estate planning. Named Scholarship Endowments

Endowment scholarship funds ensure Schlarman Academy can provide an excellent Catholic education to qualified students who wish to attend SA. Gifts specified for endowment purposes are placed in the Schlarman Academy Foundation and can be designated to support scholarships according to the donor’s wishes.

Schlarman Academy Annual Spring Raffle

SA conducts a raffle in the spring each year with a grand prize of $100,000.00 as well as many other cash prizes. Tickets are $100.00 and may be purchased by calling the Development Office at (217) 442-1184 or 1-(800) 747-0080. This fundraiser is the largest one of the year for SA and has raised over 3 million dollars for the school over its 12 year history. Tickets are available in March of each year.
