Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week Information

Catholic Schools Week 2017
January 29th to February 4th, 2017

Theme: Catholic Schools:

Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service

At Schlarman Academy and across the United States, Catholic Schools Week is a celebration of Catholic education. The National Catholic Education Association (NECA) selects a theme and each school plans activities around this theme. At Schlarman Academy, Catholic Schools Week is a celebration of all the elements of our school that make it such a great place--students, parents, faculty, staff, friends, and the entire parish community.

Explanation of This Year's Theme (Taken from the NCEA):

The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2017 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” The annual observance starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2017 is January 29th to February 4th.

The theme encompasses several concepts that are at the heart of a Catholic education. First, schools are communities—small families in their own right, but also members of the larger community of home, church, city and nation. Faith, knowledge and service are three measures by which any Catholic school can and should be judged.
